Career Support
Career Development
The IFAA Programme is committed to preparing students for successful careers in the insurance, actuarial, risk management, and financial services industries. Through internships, employer engagement, and career coaching, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and industry exposure needed to achieve their professional goals.
Internships
Internships provide valuable opportunities for students to gain practical experience and explore different career paths within the industry.
To help students better understand the insurance and actuarial profession, the Programme regularly organizes employer talks, company visits, and industry sharing sessions. Through these activities, students can learn about company cultures, business operations, and the responsibilities of different functions, including:
- Product Pricing
- Asset Liability Management (ALM)
- Actuarial Modelling
- Risk Management
- Investments
- Finance and Business Analytics
Most IFAA students undertake a half-year full-time internship during the second term of their third year of study or the first term of their fourth year. The internship serves as an important bridge between academic learning and professional practice, allowing students to develop industry knowledge, professional networks, and workplace skills.
Employer Events
The Programme maintains close connections with leading employers in the insurance, actuarial, financial services, and consulting sectors.
Employers regularly share information with the Programme regarding:
- Internship opportunities
- Graduate recruitment programmes
- Management trainee schemes
- Company presentations and campus talks
- Open house events
- Company visits and networking activities
