The Society of Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis (SIFA)

The Society of Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis (SIFA), established in March 2003, is the official student organisation representing all students in the Insurance, Financial and Actuarial Analysis (IFAA) Programme.

SIFA aims to foster a strong sense of belonging among IFAA students, promote student welfare, and support their personal and professional development. The Society actively contributes to building the professional image of IFAA students while strengthening connections among students, alumni, industry practitioners, and the Department.

As a student-led organisation, SIFA organises a wide range of activities throughout the academic year, including:

  • Orientation Camp (O Camp)
  • Departmental gatherings
  • Career talks and professional sharing sessions
  • Company visits
  • Sports competitions
  • Graduation dinners
  • CUHK Open Day activities

Through these activities, students have valuable opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and networking skills beyond the classroom.

SIFA also serves as an important bridge between the Department and students, facilitating effective communication and ensuring that students’ opinions and feedback can be shared openly with the Programme.
